ESN PLAYER EVALUATION/NOTES
Spencer is a promising offensive line recruit in the 2019 recruiting class. He has the Power 5 frame the bigger schools want. He is also athletic and has the nasty on-field demeanor needed to dominate and play at a high level. He really excels getting out in space and pulling. He does an amazing job finishing off blocks and really being a bully on the field. He does lack the strength and power punch to really lock out at the point of contact. He struggled pass blocking at the Elite Big Man Camp against the top tier pass rushers in the Midwest. The competition he played against was not as good, but he does play at a great program. He has the tools and potential to be a great college player. Group 5 lock and low Power 5 prospect.
Postseason Honors/Statistics/Other NOTES
All-State Division 3-4 First Team, 2017 MLive Grand Rapids Press Dream Team Offense. Holstege also played defensive tackle and had an impact, recording nine tackles, including two sacks. His efforts helped South Christian finish in a second-place tie in the OK Gold Conference and 7-3 overall, including a 24-13 opening-round playoff loss to Plainwell. Holstege is receiving interest from a number of Division I programs.
