ESN PLAYER EVALUATION/NOTES
Makari is one of the top overall defensive players in the state in the 2020 recruiting class. He is an tall (6’3), lean, strong, and explosive athlete that has the versatility to play Safety, OLB, and Corner. As a Safety, he is great helping over the top and has excellent range. He is great coming up and making plays against the run. He does well covering the slot and will absorb receivers and will lock them up. He showed another side of his game playing CB. He has great technique, he can press receivers and run with them across the field. In redzone situations at CB, he can take away one side of the field and will win most 50/50 balls because of his length and strength. He played a little OLB in certain situations and can set the edge on the outside and use his speed to shutdown the run. Over time, he could grow into playing OLB as he continues to get bigger and add weight. Right now, he is a Power 5 Safety with huge potential and ability across the board.
