ESN PLAYER EVALUATION/NOTES
2017 Stats (12 games): 55 catches, 1,100 receiving yards, 20/avg, 16 TD, 2017 All-CIF Southern Section Division 4. 2nd Team All-Orange County, Defensive Stats: 72 Total Tackles, 2 INTs. Elite size. Can play both inside and out. Gives offense an advantage in either position. Very good speed. Can outrun most any S or LB and is bigger than any CB he faces. Makes for a nice matchup advantage. Catches the ball extremely well. Can see the concentration on a number of one-handed catches. Very athletic and plays with a confidence rare for a SOPH. Has a knack for finding holes in a defense and is a physical blocker. Same is true on defense. He doesn’t shy away from contact. An elite FBS prospect with a number of offers.
Postseason Honors/Statistics/Other NOTES
The Sunset League MVP this season hauled in 103 receptions for 1,783 yards and 28 TDs – all school records – to help the Sea Kings earn a share of the Sunset League title and finish as the CIF-SS Division 4 runner-up. With his senior season still remaining, Humphreys is already Corona del Mar’s career leader in catches, receiving yards and receiving TDs. “His most impressive attributes come from his heart and upbringing,” CdM coach Dan O’Shea said.
