ESN PLAYER EVALUATION/NOTES
2018 1st Team All-District 5A-4, District Defensive Newcomer of the Year. Ja’tavion could be the best overall player in the 2021 recruiting class in Texas. He is a 2-way superstar that was outstanding in his sophomore season as a defensive end and wide receiver. Not your typical 2-way combination but he proved he is great at both. As a DE, he is a playmaker on the edge and is always making a huge play for his team. He is a 1-on-1 mismatch with his speed on the edge and his strength to strike, shed, and release to the football behind the line of scrimmage. If you slow him down as a pass rusher, He still has the athletic ability to jump high and bat down passes. As a WR, he is a big target on the outside, but he can beat you running a crisp route over the middle or on a vertical route. He has nice hands. He will likely move to a TE at some point because of how big he already is. He is a national Power 5 recruit with 5 Star written all over him.
