Derrick Martin

Derrick may get overlooked because he is only 5’11, but when you watch him play there have been very few that can stop his penetration into the backfield. He is doing all this against the very best teams in Texas 6A football. He gets excellent leverage off the snap and has the power and motor to slice up the interior offensive line of opposing teams. He is at his best in goal line and short yardage situations. He is pretty quick moving down the line in all pursuit situations. He has thick strong legs that are always pumping as he fights to split double teams. He just needs to improve his hands at the point of attack and then he will be tough to contain in the middle. If I am a Group 5 team, I would offer him. His height will hurt him trying to go higher, but his play on the field is impressive.
