Raesjon Davis will go from sunny southern California all the way to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his commitment to the LSU Tigers. He is the 4th LSU commit in the class of 2021 and the second California prospect to commit to the Tigers since the 2013 recruiting class.
Davis is a 6’1 210-pound 5-star outside linebacker from Mater Dei High School in Santa Anna, California. The Tigers are getting a special player from arguably the best high school program in the country.

2019 HONORS AND STATS
The class of 2021 prospect had an outstanding junior season, earning 1st Team All-Trinity League and All-Orange County honors. On the field, Davis racked up 43 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and 10 pass breakups.
As a result of his exceptional 2-year track record of competing at the highest level, Davis has become one of the best outside linebacker prospects in the country. He had offers from USC, Oregon, Ohio State, Oklahoma, UCLA, Auburn, and Arizona State to name a few.
EFN EVALUATION
The elite linebackers can make plays in the backfield, stop the run, and cover in space and Raesjon can do all 3. He has an excellent combination of size, strength, and speed.
He does his damage blitzing off the edge and is tough to block. Davis keeps offensive tackles off balance and guessing with his quickness. He is violent at the point of attack and has the strength and aggression to strike and shed.
If you try and run the opposite way, Davis is relentless on the backside pursuit and has the ability to chase down ball carriers. He is a playmaker getting sacks, deflecting balls, stripping quarterbacks from behind, and dropping back into coverage. Raesjon sets himself apart covering receivers in the slot and tight ends over the middle.
MATER DEI HAS A STRONG REPUTATION
When it comes to national powerhouse football programs, Mater Dei is well-known and recognized as being one of the best. This season they lost a close game to St. John Bosco in the CIF Southern Section Open Division Championship game. They finished second overall in California and in the USA Today national poll. In 2018, Mater Dei was ranked #1 in the country after winning the California State Open Division Championship.
Mater Dei’s reputation brings in all the major Power 5 colleges to Santa Ana every offseason. If they do well on this team, players will get opportunities from colleges all over the country.
CALIFORNIA CONNECTION
In addition to everything LSU has to offer and their success this year, Davis does have a strong connection with Elias Ricks. Ricks was a 2020 LSU commit that played for Mater Dei in 2018, but transferred to IMG Academy in Florida for the 2019 season. He enrolled early to LSU last week.
Raesjon Davis helps the Tigers get off to a great start with the 2021 recruiting class. He and Ricks will give LSU a stronger presence in California and open the doors to landing more elite prospects from the West Coast in future classes.
