Not every high school athlete can say that they are being courted by top-tier collegiate football programs like Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State. However, the talent of four-star tight end Hudson Wolfe simply demands it. The Hardin County High School coaching staff has done an excellent job of developing his skills, turning him into a potentially lethal offensive weapon for whichever quarterback he chooses to line up side-by-side with.
2019 Recap
Wolfe is a 6-6, 240-pound class of 2021 prospect who is ranked in the Top 10 nationally by most media outlets at his position. This past year, the Savannah native recorded 9 touchdowns on 25 receptions, gaining 381 yards in the process for an average of 15.2 yards per catch. His stellar junior season was recognized as he was named to the 2019 All-State Offensive Team in Class 4A.
One of the Best at his Position
There isn’t much more you could ask of Hudson Wolfe at the tight end position. He’s tall, has a long frame that makes him an exceptional receiver and blocker. He knows how to use his size to his advantage whether the ball is being advanced on the ground or in the air, making a substantial impact on every play that he is on the field.
Recruiting Status
Hudson Wolfe has garnered 25 offers from an impressive list of schools, but has cut his choices down to five: Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
Does Wolfe Stay Home?
Although the Ohio State Buckeyes are favored to land Wolfe, the in-state Tennessee Volunteers are also a viable option for the four-star recruit. He noted the personal connections he has made to the program, stating “I have built great relationships with the Tennessee staff. That is one of the reasons Tennessee is in the top for me.” He would go on to say that “Tennessee is doing a great job of recruiting me, and them just continuing to stay in touch and do what they are” will give them a solid opportunity to persuade him.
You also can’t forget Alabama, who hosted Wolfe for a virtual visit with the Crimson Tide staff after the Coronavirus impacted the recruiting world.
Whether or not Hudson Wolfe decided to join Ohio State remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Wolfe will be a high impact player no matter what school he decided to play for following his high school graduation.
