The Elite Big Man Camp in Metro Detroit had a lot of great talent in attendance. The defensive line MVP was Jokell Brown from Springfield, Ohio.
Brown is a 6’0 275-pounder that can play on the edge but is projected to be a nose guard at the next level. He beat Ja’kobe Watkins from Belleville in the final round of the Best of the Best competition. In a best of 3, it was 1 to 1, and Brown won the tiebreaker on the last rep.
Camp Evaluation
Brown doesn’t have any offers, but he beat a half dozen offensive linemen at the camp who have several each. Brown is polished with his pass rush moves, uses his hands extremely well, and has the strength and power to make it hard for offensive linemen to contain him. In the bench press station, Brown put up 19 reps at 225 pounds.

High School Accomplishments
At Springfield high school, Brown is a 4-year varsity starter and is a 2-time All-District performer. In the classroom, he has a 3.5-grade point average.
As a prospect, he is slightly undersized but checks all the other boxes as a candidate for a Division 1 offer. I know the pandemic has hurt him with schools not being able to see him in person. Colleges will see him up close this summer, and we expect him to be a standout then as well.
Prediction
In the end, we project Brown getting some offers to Group 5 programs that value what he brings to the table and sees the damage he can do as an anchor in the middle.
During this process, things may not happen as quickly as they want them to, but when it is all said and done, Brown will have a lot of college opportunities.
