The state of Ohio has a long track record of being a hotbed for high school quarterback prospects. The 2025 quarterback class has a lot of depth, talent, and future college stars, including Gahanna Lincoln’s Brennen Ward.
Over the last two years, Ward has been an impact player in Ohio. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior earned 15 Division 1 scholarship offers and committed to the University of Kentucky this past week. The Wildcats were the first Division 1 school to offer Ward in May 2022. Ward also had Power 4 offers from Missouri, Indiana, Boston College, Virginia, and Syracuse.
Ward is Kentucky’s fourth commit and second quarterback in its 2025 recruiting class. Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops has done an outstanding job recruiting Ohio during his tenure, and Ward was a major priority for his staff.

EFN Player Evaluation
During his junior year, Ward led his team to a 12-1 overall record and an Ohio Division 1 Regional Championship. He completed 67.7% of his passes, threw for 2,482 yards and 27 touchdowns, and broke three school records. Lincoln’s offense averaged 36 points per game. Ward is a two-time All-District and All-OCC performer. He also collected All-State honors as a junior.
On the field, Ward is a fundamentally sound quarterback with solid mechanics throwing the football. He has the arm talent to throw a strike over the middle and excellent touch on his deep balls. Ward stands tall in the pocket, is poised, and has good vision downfield to find open receivers.
As an athlete, he moves in and out of the pocket well, can improvise under pressure, and has the mobility to move the chains. Brennen has been a proven winner throughout his high school career.
