Le’veon Moss may be one of the most explosive running backs in the 2022 recruiting class. Moss broke into the spotlight after having an electric sophomore year for the Istrouma Senior high school football program out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
During Moss’s freshman year he was clocked at running a 4.6 40 yard dash time, but before his sophomore year, he ran a blazing 4.34 40 yard dash, a huge improvement. His newfound speed translated onto the field, where he had an extremely productive 2019 season.
1,000-Yard Rusher
Moss stands at 5’11” and a sturdy 180-pound frame, with the ability to break numerous tackles and cruise down the sideline for a touchdown. Despite Istrouma Senior having a 4-7 record last season, Moss still ran for 1,254 yards and 16 touchdowns. Moss averaged a staggering 13.3 yards per carry, and not only is he an outstanding running back but a phenomenal kick returner as well.
Moss only returned 5 kickoffs last year, but managed to take three of them to the house. People all across Louisiana began to take notice, and he eventually earned 4A All-State 1st Team honors.
Scholarship Offers
Not only did the people of Louisiana start to notice Moss, but college coaches all across the South. As a rising junior, Le’veon Moss currently holds offers from LSU, Alabama, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. His most recent offer came on July 26th, when he was offered by the Georgia Bulldogs.
Is LSU the Favorite?
It’s rumored that Moss is leaning heavily towards LSU, claiming that LSU is his “dream school” which makes sense considering he is native to Baton Rouge.
Things are still very much in the air however since he has two more years of high school ball to play. Moss’s future visits are also uncertain because of the current Coronavirus pandemic.
Regardless, Le’veon Moss has unlimited potential heading into his junior year. With his breakaway speed and hard-nosed running, he is poised to have another huge season. Look for even more college offers to head Moss’s way if he can continue to improve his game. Who knows, maybe he’ll be clocking a 4.2 40 yard dash for this upcoming year.
