After a wrist injury cost Keenan Speer-Johnson much of his 2019 season, he is now ready to go and hopes to put on a show in 2020. The wide receiver out of Tigard High School in Oregon had a very solid freshman year, leading to multiple offers. He spent his freshman season playing for Central Catholic before ultimately deciding to transfer to Tigard.
Keenan is 6’3 and 180-pounds, and even though his season was cut short by injuries, he showed out at the start of the year and has continued to do so in the offseason. He was tearing it up in camps and in 7-on-7’s when able to before the pandemic. His continued workout videos and training sessions have turned scouts’ eyes, as he recently picked up an SEC offer, which is no small feat for anyone, let alone a west coast prospect.
Speer-Johnsons’s length and quickness are some of his greatest strengths, as he has shown in camps he has the ability to beat a guy off the line and use his route running to create the needed separation. When he is at full strength this coming year he will be a playmaker for a Tigard team that finished as one of the top squads in all of Oregon. Tigard finished the season 10-1 with their only loss coming in a heartbreaking 34-31 (OT) loss to Mountainside in the playoffs. Although they are losing a good amount of seniors, they return their star quarterback Drew Carter, and the Carter to Speer-Johnson connection should be a lethal one in 2020.
Even with his limited time in 2019, Keenan still has 3 offers on the table already, with Nevada, Utah State, and Kentucky all offering the talented rising Junior. In the coming year it is not a matter of if, but when the additional offers come in. He has already had multiple unofficial visits to places like Washington State, UCLA, USC, and Oregon. His father is also the Director of High School Relations for Oregon’s football team, so he has additional connections to one of the top programs in the country on top of his visit.

In 2020 Tigard will be looking to get back to their first State Championship since 2014, as the past few years, they have had dominant records, but have fallen by a combined score of 4 points in the last two seasons. With a talented roster including Keenan returning, they should feel good about their chances to get over that final hump next year.
