Nick McArthur

Nick is a nice young prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He has excellent size at 6’5 235 pounds and was used primarily as a run blocker. He was effective sealing off the edge in the run game and works hard to finish. He needs to improve his technique. He leads with his chest and forearms and not taking advantage of his arm length by not punching with his hands at the point of attack. It is causing him to be too high at times. His team is run oriented triple option team, but he still caught a handful of passes downfield. He is an average athlete in space and is a little off with his balance and body control. He has decent hands. He is a wait and see type player with a Power 5 frame. It will be interesting to see how he progresses from sophomore to junior season athletically and fundamentally. He will likely be used a lot more on the defensive line in 2019. As of right now, I project him as a Group 5 prospect more as a potential offensive lineman but has potential to move up with improvement.
